You’ve just set up your eMeet C960—great picture, crisp visuals. But then: no sound. The eMeet webcam is not working, and your system might not even detect the webcam at all.
Whether your eMeet webcam is not working or your eMeet microphone stopped picking up sound, don’t panic. Here’s a straightforward fix guide that covers all three.
1. Check if the eMeet Microphone is Disabled
Common symptom: Webcam shows video, but no audio input. That’s likely because the mic is disabled in your system.
To check in Windows:
- Go to Control Panel > Hardware and Sound > Sound
- Click on the Recording tab
- Right-click and enable Show Disabled Devices
- Find your eMeet microphone, right-click, and hit Enable
If you don’t see it at all, it might not be recognized—jump to the driver section below.
2. Update Privacy Settings
Both Windows and macOS block mic access by default in some cases.
On Windows:
- Go to Settings > Privacy > Microphone
- Toggle Allow apps to access your microphone to On
- Scroll down and ensure apps like Zoom, Skype, or OBS have permission
On macOS:
- Open System Preferences > Security & Privacy > Privacy > Microphone
- Make sure your calling/recording apps are checked
Still no luck? Keep going.
3. Update or Reinstall Drivers
A missing or outdated driver could explain why your eMeet camera is not working or why the mic doesn’t show up.
Windows:
- Open Device Manager
- Look for your eMeet webcam under Audio inputs or Cameras
- Right-click > Update Driver > Search automatically
- If that fails, right-click > Uninstall Device, then restart
macOS:
No manual driver updates—just make sure your OS is current via System Preferences > Software Update.
4. Try Another USB Port or Computer
Some ports deliver less power or simply don’t work properly. If your eMeet webcam is not working, plug it into:
- A different USB port
- Directly into the machine (avoid USB hubs)
- A second PC to rule out software issues
If the mic and video still fail elsewhere, it may be a hardware problem.
5. Use an External Microphone
Still stuck with the eMeet microphone not working? An external mic might be your best workaround. It’ll offer better audio anyway.
- Plug in your external mic (USB or 3.5mm)
- Set it as the default input device in Sound Settings
Conclusion
If your eMeet webcam or microphone isn’t working, it’s usually a software or settings issue—one of the steps above should get you sorted.
But if the mic still refuses to work on any device, don’t hesitate to contact us or the eMeet support. You could be dealing with a hardware failure.
